The Mayor of Shtip, Prim.MA Ilcho Zahariev today gave a report for his mandate, announcing that a part of the projects will be implemented during the remaining months. As he said, he is proud of the successes and the trace he leaves behind himself with over 400 completed projects, even though he received the trust of a total 129 projects promised: 

- During my time as a mayor, I did not obliged the municipality and most of the debts are settled. For example, the dept in respect of transport of students from 600.000 euros is reduced to 200,000 euros and I managed to implement over 400 projects. One hundred is a result of the responsible behavior and saving. The international obligations such as debts to EBRD has been settled, with the exception of interest rates and the tendency with the future mayor to remain excellent financial condition- said the Mayor Zahariev.

Listing a part of the projects he said that Shtip received a new riverbed of Otinja which has turned into a pleasant place to walk and enjoy. Shtip has received a new multimedia center of which 60% of the funds were provided by the Municipality and also reconstructed was the House of youth after four decades.

Zahariev mentioned that in terms of the infrastructure 140 streets were paved, and that is equally invested in the villages and in the city. Only in the Ovchepole region were invested about 1 million euros and some villages got roads more than five decades like Puhche, Gorachino, Sarchievo, Suvo Grlo as well as streets through the villages in Leskovica, Dolani, Dragoevo, Selce, Vrsakovo and many more.

- We need more time to list all the streets that we made in the city, but for example we have paved the most complicated street “Vardarska” which was put in the work program many times but was not implemented. We have managed to make it, but the work is not finished because until the end of the mandate we will make 15 more streets for which the tenders are finished, added Zahariev.

According to him, sewerage network was made in Balkanska, Chardaklija, Makedonka and 80% in Karaorman, connected to the water supply network are many settlements and suburban areas which for many decades did not have the opportunity for that. from the area of sport, according to the Mayor were implemented over 20 sports playgrounds in all the settlements, and with the Agency for young and sport are made two multifunctional playgrounds and 4 tennis courts including a fitness part which will be enriched with a basketball playground and a skating park. Reconstructed is the field of the stadium, placed are eight lightbulbs in cooperation with FFM, asphalted is the athlete path and ongoing is a tender for covering one of the stands, while we received an artificial turf stadium.

Projects are finished in the part of the culture, we had successful “Pastrmalijada” and “Makfest” as well as Shtip cultural summer, and renewed are old houses in Novo Selo and a museum of the revolutionary struggle was made as well as 14 churches which are finished or build with different support.

- One of the best projects is the trail behind the Isar.People for the first time saw what the Isar looks behind and we also finished the second part of the trail to the settlement Balkanska. Always when I pass there I have positive reactions from the citizens for this trail and our engagement to continue the cycling and walking trail to the settlement Karaorman – said Zahariev.

He also announced more projects few months until his mandate. He announced a new bridge through Bregalnica and a street that will connect the industrial zone and the street Boris Krajger with what Shtip will receive a new alternative roundabout, 1 million euros for a new water supplying network from the filter station, a project for building a new kinder garden as well as arranging the river bed of the river Bregalnica from 8Noemvri to spa Kezhovica. As for the Spa Kezhovica, PE “Isar” reconstructed the showers as well as the accommodation capacities. Planned are new projects for road to the villages Pochivalo, Buchim, Lipov Dol, Gorachino, Tanatarci, Stepanci and Dobroshani and a road to the village Koshevo. In the city will be asphalted “Strasho Pindzur”, “Kiril Pejchinovikj”, “Krushevska Republika”, “Ljuben Ivanov”, “Kocho Racin” and ten more.

Zahariev also mentioned the state projects through the Government of RM, like the road to Miladinovci, first in more than five decades, TIR zone with three foreign companies, the Clinical hospital, gasification and of course two new highways to Radovish and Kochani which are new investments in the road infrastructure. He also stated that in the municipal industrial zones we have new companies like “Aktiva automotive” and “Semak Fashion” which says that it’s a success for the business and the business community in the city.

- I did not apply for a second mandate and I think that I did more for one. I think onw should not be bound to the function and should leave a trace behind. The function is a transient operation. At this moment I can say that I am proud of what I leave behind, over 400 projects which will be appreciated by the citizens and those on the countryside and those in the city. The support from the citizens is great and I know that they respect my investment because I am in the local government already 6 years, of which 4 I work as a Mayor and 2 years as a president of the council. I worked hard and that is why we returned lots of debt and made many useful things. My profession as a pharmacist offers me new challenges – mentioned Zahariev.

He added that as a mayor he remained in touch with all the citizens of Shtip and beyond who want to get professional advice from his profession and that he remains open to cooperation. According to the Zahariev, these projects reclaim epithet center in the East. Of course, as I say, there are unhappy people who think that nothing has been done, but they are only a small part, while the majority of citizens share the view that Shtip in the past 4 years was a real constructional site. Zahariev thanked all the journalists for the cooperation mentioning that they reported correctly for all the projects familiarizing the citizens and the public about the activities of local government and the mayor.
